Rightly or wrongly I tend to follow as many headlines about the property market and finance as I can, but despite having worked in property for nearly 25 years, I still never seem to see the definitive answers I am looking for.

If this is how I see it, without patronising anyone, it clearly has to be difficult for those who do not spend all day working in and around property, but are looking to take a step closer to either buying, selling, renting, becoming a landlord or even a commercial investor.

In my time in property I have experienced a variety of highs and lows, when I look back over my time I would say the highs have greatly outweighed the lows, but perhaps the lows stick in the memory a little clearer than the highs, for whatever reason, perhaps the glass is half full media culture we are in, not one I subscribe to personally, but  good news doesn’t sell……

We have had a very encouraging start to the year, with most things being positive, but like most lines of work, surely not every day can be a great one, it is just making sure in the varying degeree’s of great and not so, that we focus more on the positive.

We have a great year ahead of us, the Queens Diamond Jubilee, an incredible moment to look forward to and one that no doubt will pass all too quickly, despite a life of what could be considered privilege, she has endured more highs and lows than most of us I suspect, but her experience enables her to carry on in a way that seems on the face it effortlessly.

We will only see the Olympians compete in their events and watch as they cross their respective finishing lines, we won’t see the 4 years of training beforehand that lead them to this point, no doubt with up’s and downs.

Through his experience at Manchester United, local legend Gary Neville will play his part at the helm with the England team in Euro 2012, no doubt keeping calm and carrying on despite what will be enormous pressure from media and fans alike.
